Now I wonder who it was that told him to get the 6870 in the first place

What the hell are you talking about man, my opinions come from thin air!

Yes, the rep should go to Huge really as we had this conversation just the other day when I was going to buy a 460! A bit of research later and the 6870 is definitely better! No matter what Bit Tech say :/

He won't make use of the extra features so not really worth it.

Ah so it does, this afternoon they were out of stock.

Price is £100 from there once you factor in delivery which is £30 more than scan's price.... Not sure my brother wants to pay that much just to get it now. :(

Yes, I was going to mention that. If you're paying £100 it isn't much of a stretch to the FT03. Can I ask why you aren't considering the Arc Mini? Its £65 and in stock at Scan.

It's just very dull and the Silverstone is better for cooling :) The Silverstone also has less fans so I would imagine it is quieter.....

If you're bothered about making your computer quiet you're probably going to want to change the fans for aftermarket ones anyway, and I think they are both as plain as each other. But, I think that might be down to me being in love with my FT03 :baby:

Yeah true, I think my brother is slowly leaning towards the FT03, he loved the quality of my FT02 :)

Think this will be the final build, but any last minute input would be helpful.

    Case: Silverstone Fortress FT03 £106.84
    Mobo: Asus P8P67-M Rev3 MATX - £89.60
    CPU: Intel i5 2500k - £159.78
    Memory: Corsair XMS3 2 x 4Gb - £38.16
    Cooler: Gelid Tranquillo - £22.90
    GPU: XFX HD 6870 - £134.62
    HDD: Crucial M4 128Gb: 139.34
    HDD: Samsung 1Tb F3 - £40.78
    Wireless card: Edimax EW-7711In - £13.18

Bit unsure on the wireless card, needs to have a remote aerial due to the case design, can anyone tell me if this is compatible with my mobo and if there are any better alternatives that won't break the bank.

Don't get the silver FT03, it has white plastic and is widely agreed not to look anywhere near as good as the black one. Also, check on that titanium one! They've come down a bit in price since I got mine.

No advice there sorry, I use a tiny USB wireless adapter, it sits in a USB port on my monitor and gets good reception. Having only four slots in the case and intending to go crossfire in the future, I don't have space to get a card.

If you actually look at the prices then you will see that the 2500K is the same price as the 2500 plus it will be easier to sell the 2500K in the future.
