There are faint black lines whenever I load up a game, I don't notice it when I'm using the PC for general use (internet) or even the desktop doesn't show the black lines. I don't think it's the monitor's fault exactly, since it worked fine with previous pc. Though I just built the pc with a gtx 460, so could I have to change some settings around, or something? My monitor is dell u2311 ips, and I've tried v-sync off, etc but still the problem persists (and it's on all games). I can't really take a screenshot, but if I were to say it's like the kind of blurry faint lines when you film a tv or monitor on a camcorder and when playing back you get those lines, it's kinda like that but very faint and actually goes with the graphics, so it isn't like it's blocking out images just a wave of faint black lines when gaming that go up and down.
Check the card is pressed in to the slot all the way. Sometimes if it's not seated all the way in, you can get weird effects. Other than that, not sure.
Have you made sure the games are running at the screen's native resolution? That could cause issues with 3D games. Update the drivers to the latest WHQL certified from nvidia's website if you haven't already, that might solve the problem.
i also have noticed this with my monitor tonight, its horizontal lines, and you can see it easier when screen is dark, but during a game or using windows its not noticeable,
I have the drivers updated, and it seems to be plugged in all the way, yet I still get these faint black lines (that don't distort the image or block it out, but a translucent overlay).
