    Hi everyone

I want to get a good 27" monitor which will be used for gaming as well as all the other usual PC tasks, work, internet browsing etc. I vaguely remember Custom PC doing a display labs test recently but looking through my past issues cant find it. Anyone know if there was one or I'm just imagining it?

From what little reading I've done I gather an IPS LED backlit panel is a pretty good route to go but they can be quite pricy. It needs to have an HDMI port (doubt this will be an issue now adays) and if it has 2 even better. I don't want to break the bank so I'm thinking around £300 is my max budget.

I'm open to all suggestions and advice though, I just want to get a feel for what people have found to be good.

£300 is the budget so the u2711 is probably a bit much.
The 27" iiyama is meant to be pretty good for a tn panel but as mentioned ^^^ the dell is meant to be amazing.

You will not get an IPS 27" for £300 sadly.

I'd personally get a smaller better quality screen that a giant crappy one.

I'd recommend a U2410, it's only a 24 inch monitor but the picture quality is amazing. I think you might be able to squeeze that within you budget, if not new then try going on the used market.

480 at the moment on overclockers for the u2711, otherwise the 24 one is just as good

you'll struggle to even get 24inch IPS for £300.

Sorry for not replying sooner guys but things have been hectic recently. Yeah the dell U2711 does seem to be amazing but its just too expensive for me. :( Now the dust has settled after moving I think I'm content with my current setup and will wait until the newer technologies become more affordable.

    Thanks for your input guys.
