    KK, keep me posted.

I'm going to slot my PSU back in now, and have a tinker with the LLC.

    Good News Everybody!

3dMark went fine, and Battlefield is working on SP.

WIll give multi a good go tonight and see how it goes.

I turned the LLS from Auto to High and also spread the power to the board/components over more rails than before.

Not such a reliable tool since both Nvidia and ATI throttle it. Unigine Heaven can provide a good GPU stress test though - as can the the batch size test (with large batches) in the advanced version of 3DMark05/06 (at least that results in the largest power draw on my system).

Eugh, I can get into BF sp and play for a bit, then it starts stuttering then *poof* gone again.

I'm RMA'n the PSU as it seems the most likely culprit. Fingers crossed this sorts it.

Gotta ring eBuyer to process the RMA, but in the meantime my friend checked the PSU with his tester, and there are voltage faults on the main rail (the hardwired one).

Looks like I've found the bugger!

    Wowza, what a coincidence!

I'm RMA'n from eBuyer luckily, who I have always had a success with.

I'm glad. Hard to RMA something on an intermittent problem. All out failure is easier! :D

    @Tibby and Blogins

Can you guys please post back results once you get your new psu's? I'm having the same problem with my gig.

Everything works ok but as soon as I start playing games the system just restarts.

I have an EVGA Superclocked 560ti and my psu is the cooler master real power m1000. I started playing and within 10 minutes or so the computer just powers off and restarts, no stuttering or any evidence that something might be wrong.

    I really appreciate your feedback.

Pain with psu's, i've had a cheap 450 watt that lasted me for years, i think its still in use in a friends pc, and ive had an expensive 650 watt modular that randomly died after about a year with no heavy usage :(

    Hey VikArmo.

I'm still waiting on my PSU back from eBuyer, but will post on here once it is up.

Have you done the usual tests? Memtest, Prime95 (or other CPU stress test), Futurmark.

Also if possible try the PSU in another machine, or another PSU in your machine.

    Hi Tibby,

Been through all the usual suspects and got results back from 3dmark11 and heaven dx11. All ran without any issues. Same with memory.

Was browsing an hour ago and again the computer just shut down and restarted. Tried a game of Saints Row 3 and within 10 minutes it happened again. Tried Operation Flashpoint and again it took about 10 minutes to shut down and restart.

The only thing that is 'old' is the psu, so as you guys are having similar issues it's worth checking if it solved your problems.

Just happened as I was typing this!!!

It's getting really annoying now - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

Well my PC wasn't shutting down, it was the getting started it didn't like towards the end!

Sent off to SCAN anyway, so hope they can get a fast turnaround on the replacement.

I'm glad to say that my problem is solved.

Got myself a Corsair HX750 PSU and swapped it out with the 3 year old Cooler Master and lo and behold my PC is running like a full fat olive and butter spread!!!! Sorry, I'm just really excited it's sorted so excuse me with the metaphor.

Hoping the new PSU will work for you as well.

PS: Saints Row the Third is a bloody good game when it doesn't crash.

    Good to hear!

Am picking my replacement PSU up on Saturday, and will slot it in on Monday night.

I've got Saints Row the Third on Xbox, and it's fricking hilarious. My favourite bit so far is the driving around with a Bengal Tiger in the passenger seat!

    Excellent.

I'm buying a cheap and cheerful psu to keep as a backup for testing purposes just in case.
