Well I just saw a commercial for a new Krylon Fusion paint. Supposedly it bonds to plastic at a molecular level without priming the surface...so anyone tried it?
im guessing that it's krylon's answer to vinyl dye ... being a mostly reformed idiot, i have always preferred krylon to just about anything. damn good paint.
really? maybe i should stop using whatever wal mart has for 97 cents when i goto paint something from now on....
I just tried it on my mouse about 3 weeks ago. Does vinyl dye chip? My mouse has a few flakes off it right now, and my thumb has rubbed off a little as well. I didn't clearcoat it, just two coats of Krylon Fusion Paint. Seems to look pretty good though. ~Davy //EDIT No priming either.
i think chipping would be expected on something like a mouse. Something that is handled that much deserves a few layers of clear coat.
The mouse, monitor, keyboard and speakers in this pic were all painted with the Fusion paint, no problems so far. I haven't used the other vinyl "dyes" out there so I have nothing to compare it to, but this stuff is only $4 a can and I think it looks pretty good... Project Hockeytown
vinyl dye doesn't chip... ask merlinicorpus at Gideontech... he's pretty much the authority on vinyl dye. at least out of all the people I know. vinyl color works on the basis that it actually permeates the plastic. Fusion does not do that, its just paint that works well on plastics. I've used vinyl dye, I can tell teh difference myself.
