Hey guys! So I recently had a new mobo and installedd it a couple of weeks ago and my pc has had a few BSOD and I cant figure out why. I'm not super technical Either way I believe this the information you guys need to kinda help me. I'll note now, I didn't have the drivers for the mobo so I only installed the LAN driver to get internet working. Its a gigabyte z68 UD4 with a 2500k CPU BSOD Error report: Version=1 EventType=BlueScreen EventTime=129751846477468374 ReportType=4 Consent=1 ReportIdentifier=2b0fea08-6491-11e1-90a4-50e54941e51b IntegratorReportIdentifier=030212-16614-01 Response.type=4 DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version DynamicSig[1].Value=6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale ID DynamicSig[2].Value=2057 UI[2]=C:\Windows\system32\wer.dll UI[3]=Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown UI[4]=Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. Hey, So you had the machine running fine on this install, pulled the PC apart and popped in a new motherboard and now you are getting BSOD ? Sounds driver related is so. The minidump will likely help out. It is located at C:\Windows\Minidump\030212-16614-01.dmp for this instance.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/65295548/030212-16614-01.dmp Here you go! So you have look at the file and that'll tell you whats wrong? And yeah all the parts work fine. the mobo was orignally faulty and it was part of an OC bundle, I got it back and its BSOD. The old mobo never BSOD, just froze just before I sent it back.
Any help guys? If thats not the correct file just let me know and I can uplaod the correct one. I'm pretty sure its driver related but I cant figure out what The BSOD file should say right? Thanks.
The dump file indicates an unknown module, this is usually a sign of something hardware related. Try doing a full run of memtester64 first. If that completes without any errors then try SeaTools for Windows by Seagate which will test your hard disk(s), run long and short tests until complete or fail. If at this point nothing has been reported as wrong you could try Prime95. Run all three tests for about 4 hours each or until failure.
BCCode 124 is usually related to a failing overclock. I usually find a small bump in core voltage or reducing the processor speed by a small amount will fix that error. Sometimes it's related to unstable memory, so it could also be the memory controller or the memory itself (it may need a tiny bit more voltage, or it may not run well at the current speed). It is possible it's a motherboard problem, but that has not been my experience with that error code. Do you overclock at all? that may help pin it down some more.
The CPU is overclocked to 4.7 gigs, only problem is im useless with PC's and paid for an Overclocked bundle Should I just phone up SCAN and talk too them on the phone? I had a look at that memtester, wtf how do it work? I put it on USB drive and boot from it or something? Thank you guys!!
That's probably the problem. The easiesst way to fix it depends on your BIOS. You need to enter your BIOS and increase the CPU voltage (or Vcore, it may be called something differnt) by the smallest amount you can and see if that helps. Overclocked bundles can be very good, but they often use standard settings and don't stress test, which means they would not know that something is not quite right. If you are unsure about what to change, post a photo of the info in the first screen of your BIOS. Someone who knows that board or it's BIOS will be able to tell you exactly which settings to change and how to change it.
