What can I use to stick my posters up on my wall? Blu-tak won't work as they are printed onto silk material stuff. I've got some sticky-fixer things, but they leave behind a horrible mess when removed, both on the wall and on the poster. Removing it from the wall is probably easy with some alcohol and a bit of rubbing, but I doubt that'd do the poster any good. So, anyone know of anything good, that doesn't leave a mess. I know frames are the best solution, but I can't afford them, and I couldn't find any in 36x13" size.
They look interesting. How do they work? Do the plastic bits 'clip' onto the poster, and then you just hand it like a picture frame with the string?
Too expensive. And for this poster, being 36x13 its a weird size so would have to be a custom frame, which would be even more. I did look into making my own clip frames. While the MDF backing would be cheap, the perspex front would make it ridiculously expensive. My Dads still got three 36x24 pictures that I'd like to get up at some point, a clip frame for that size is ~£12 each at the cheapest, the cost of the three frames would be almost double what the pictures cost.
You could use real glass instead of perspex. Should be much cheaper. Just make sure that the hanging is solid.
That's how it looks to me. If the poster has a tendancy to curl you could always stick a couple of pennies to the bottom backside with some magic tape which should ensure they hang straight and flat. Magic tape shouldn't damage your poster when the time comes to remove it too.
