Hey all, Finally bit the bullet and ordered three Samsung SA700D 3D monitors for some surround gaming. All I can say is.. Wow, breathtaking. Can't believe I haven't done this sooner, gives gaming a whole new world! I'll let the pics do the talking...
Nice, how you finding the motion compared to 60hz? Also, get DisplayFusion if you want some proper multi-monitor support, like taskbars on each monitor etc,
Its great, especially noticeable when dragging windows around the desktop, so smooth! Most of the games I have tested so far are running at around 60 anyway at 5760x1080, but will test some older games / single screen to see the 120hz in action!
Very nice setup! Have you tried any intence gaming yet? like skrim? I've been thinking of doing this but I don't have the GPU's for it atm!
How do your 580s handle the resolution? I just got my 3 1920x1200 monitors and most of the parts for my new build, but I'm undecided if I should try to snag some used 580s or wait for 660 Ti/ 670s for SLI or grab a single 680 4GB. Awesome setup btw.
They handle it admirably. Have tested the following so far, I like to play at ~60fps so will turn the AA down or whatever if needs be. Crysis - runs fine on very high with no AA Crysis 2 - needs to be turned down a couple of notches if using DX11 BF3 - runs very well at ultra, need to turn off HBAO Tera - Maxed out F1 2011 - Maxed out Just Cause 2 - Maxed out HAWX 2 - Maxed out Think thats all I've tried so far, anyone have any reccomendations for decent triple screen games? Skyrim needs a few fixes to get it working, havent been bothered to try it out yet.
The game pictured is Tera, loving this game atm.. Go for trip-screen Bindi! As good as the Dell is, you can't beat the immersion and wow factor of multi monitor gaming!
I know. I really want it but need to consider desk space cause my Ikea jobbie ain't so wide. Also I really want something like the XFX arms to hold all 3 together. Are those Samsungs the super-thin bezel versions? Of the few things I wish we made, I want some of those the most You've swayed me towards 3 monitors over 1 large I have to admit, but I really want IPS rather than 120Hz TN.
How do you find the Bezel, do you notice it much or even at all, I can't help but think it would be really annoying.
These do have very thin bezels. Approx 5 mm, I have also angled the screens so that the bezels are hid behind the bezels on the centre screen, which make them look even smaller. You don't really notice the bezels whilst playing as you still look directly at the centre. The extra screens provide immersion and peripheral vision, they don't give you one large screen to look at. You need to try I guess to see if you like it. I personally think its great!
Maybe its just because when I look at my screen that has about a 20mm Bezel on them I think of doubling that to 40mm,
23", possible to use all 3 of them. I know when i look at my dual ZR2740w, that even now sometimes hurts to look at far edge of the secondary display. Three 27" displays would be simply impossible for my neck to survive for long .
Looks like a nice setup - did u get the monitors for the 120Hz as u dont seem to b using 3D? Do u need a 3rd card to run the 4th monitor?
