I've been looking at new earphones, iPhone earphones are crap, but wherever I go all the earphones I look at seem to break in 4 months or have crap sound. Anyone know of a good solid pair that'll last me more than a year?
These: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Koss-Porta-...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1337182091&sr=1-1 Also holy hell they have gone u in price since I got mine :l
Sorry, should have said. I want small in ear earphones that I can use in college. I've looked at them Sennheiser ones, they do look like a good set
As someone who's owned both, I couldn't disagree more. I couldn't stand the Sony's. CX 300 II, no question whatsobloodyever.
There are a lot of fakes about, and they need about 12 hours burn in before they sound like they should, but the sony's sound better than some headphones worth well over £100
Agree, the Sony's are too bassy. The MDR XB500 and 700's are fairly decent, the XB300 are not. Might just be my liking for fairly balanced headphones though. The bassiest set I currently own is a Denon D2000.
I'm talking about the EX300's, earbuds, not earphones. The sound about 98% as good as the EX500's which were twice the price. They are very flat sounding earphones, something that audio technicians look for when mixing so they can hear all the frequencies at the same level. So they don't exaggerate the bass, just give a nice warm but crisp well rounded solid bass, without drowning out other frequncies.
In that case, I can't compare. I've never auditioned the EX300's, I did get to listen to the EX1000's once. They were sublime.
I'd also recommend the Sennheiser CX-300IIs. The sound quality is fantastic and they're really comfy to wear.
CX-300II's are extremely good, and will be the most commonly recommended by some distance - of the major brands they are the best balanced and best value of any mentioned above.... However I used to do a lot of audio reviews and spend a small fortune on audio kit...and in ym budget days I did indeed won some CX300II's, but I also owned some Sound Magic PL30's, I've gotta say the PL30's pip them in every-way, and are without a doubt the best in-ear headphones in the price range by miles. Head-Fi review below, who are one of the best and most unbiased review sites there is for audio. http://www.head-fi.org/t/433799/review-of-soundmagic-pl30 http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/for...ittle-review-soundmagic-pl30-astonishing.html EDIT: The aforementioned Koss Porta Pro's don't fit the bill, but they are the final word in sound quality at this price-point. They're are nothing short of legendary amongst audiophiles and have been since the 80's (and have also looked the same since the 80's). None of the other headphone mentioned in this thread can get near the Porta's....in fact very little for under £100 can. That said they are ugly as hell and not what you're looking for...so I'll stick to my PL30 recommendation.
i'm using some plantronics gamecom headphine, they are comfortable, and dont sound too bad these but they have been discontinued
Um...For 30 dollars, you can try the the Arctic E461. I'm using it and it looks really good together with iPhone 4
I'm currently using the MDR EX700's, the predecessor for the MDR EX1000's that I got for about £50 (instead of over £150 as they are last seasons hardware) To me after a long (3 week) burn in they sound like liquid gold, the MDR EX300's are probably the lowest in the Sony range that come close to sounding like these. Unless you can get the MDR EX85 or 90's, which are basically the 300/500's predecessors.
they are good but JVC xtreme Xplosices just have great BASS no joke sounds like my 900 Watt sub in the car. Link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/JVC-Xtreme-...5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1337237746&sr=1-5 they also come with a mic which is why I got them. Edit: Many different colours too
In ear heaphones eh? The last set of those I had were these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Techn...5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1337243380&sr=1-5 and they are slightly above your budget but I would highly recommend them
