Hi, my HP G61 laptop no longer turns on. No LEDs light up and no noise. Ive tried with and without the battery and still the same issue. When I put in the charger, the white LED near the port comes on for a few seconds. I have tried the hard reset trick but have got no luck. I am out of warranty can anyone help please

Yep, seen this very laptop fail before, a new motherboard is likely your only option. Depending on the exact model, your location and your technical proficiency, you should be able to pick up a replacement board for ~£100.

Agreed, sounds like a dead motherboard. That's one of the issues with portables, since nearly everything is integrated into the board it doesn't take much to bring the whole system down.
