I am doing a full cap replacement on the card. I started another thread in hardware, but am moving it here as it seems more appropriate. Here is a pic of the stock card. The front channel caps are circle here and were going to replaced with larger caps but I am now only adding larger 470uf 16v caps to the power side of the card. Those are two caps in the middle of the end of the card. Here is a pic of the new caps of the card too. Many more to go!
So I have run into some issues. I got four more caps off, but part of their stem is clogging the hole. Ive tried a solder gun and an awl, but I just can't get em all out. Until I can get it working, its back to onboard sound . I will keep trying and post again when I get the new caps installed.
