Now now, we werent once as knowledgeable as we once were!

    This should help you out.......

    Guide To Overclocking

Its a bit out of date in terms of the CPUs it mentions, but the basics remain unchanged!
Also, just search on Yahoo for 'how to overclock' and you'll find lots of articles and reviews that will help you learn how to overclock successfully, (usually) without breaking anything! :)

An overclocked system is one which has been "tweaked" in order to usually make it run at a faster speed than usual. For example you may overclock your cpu from a 800mhz to 1ghz. However by overclocking you cause the chip to run at a higher temp so in order to keep the temp. down and stop your porcessor blowing you need to make sure you have a good cooling system. hope this helps.

you would get a better answer if you posted in the overclocking forum not the modding forum.

(although you could consider overclocking a mod i guess)

    edit-

I stand corrected there aint an "overclocking Forum" HUH thats odd
    :D

    SORRY

A disaster waiting to happen? ;--)
Basically, it's a way to use the fudge factor to actually do something useful rather than just have it sit there.
