Hi all, I am considering upgrading my PC to an IVY Bridge from X58 and I have just seen the Prodigy. I have a Coolmaster Storm at the moment which is great but I want something much more compact. Will going to ITX affect performance greatly? I never use the additional PC slots so won't miss those. I will keep my Storm Trooper for future builds but would love to try ITX.
Depends on the board, but let's just say that in a review for one czech website they managed to get out 5.1GHz on a ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe from a CPU, where even the best boards managed 5.2GHz at best, and most managed only 5.1GHz or less. Of course if we talk about not-so-good ASRock Z68M-ITX board, then the situation is different, that one likes to throttle a lot .
Thanks guys. At the moment, I am running a i7-930, X58 Sabertooth and 12 GB of RAM. Would this be a big improvement - Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe Motherboard Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9 LP Vengeance 8GB I have a Samsung 830 SSD, but this is currently running at Sata 2 speeds, I take it the Asus P8Z77-I is SATA 3?
How about checking out the bit-tech review ? Only i7-920 there, but that is pretty close to i7-930. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2012/05/01/intel-core-i5-3570k-cpu-review/3
P8Z77-I is a full Z77 chipset with two SATA 6Gbps ports and two 3Gbps: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77I_DELUXE/ What's your i7-930 OC?
Cheers for that mate. This does look like a worthwhile upgrade it must be said. My overclock at the moment is 3.8Ghz, mainly due to temps. CPU overclocked better on my old X58A-UD3R Motherboard.
So the situation is as follows, we have stock of the P8Z77-I Deluxe landing with UK distributors at the end of this week. So providing the etailers (Scan, OCUK, etc) request them you should hopefully be able to get one next week some time
They definitely will. This board looks awesome, in fact, it looks so awesome I'm surprised it didn't have ROG stamped all over it. IT HAS A VRM DAUGHTERBOARD! That is soooooo ROG.
Ordered a load of stuff to do exactly this a few days ago - Didn't see that Mobo though, might have to send mine back when it arrives D:
@Mongoose132: how did you manage that . It was announced in March and was available in stores in May .
