Okay so every time I put my graphic cards are being put under load my computer just reboots. Higher the setting the faster it just reboots.I did find a loose 2 pin connector in one of the GPUs but it still does it. I just built this computer so I only have Arma II, Operation Arrowhead, and DayZ. After about 5 min.... maybe less, my computer reboots on all of those games. I did a video stress test in EVGA OC Scanner X and that rebooted her in seconds. Now to be more specific on the reboot sometimes it reboots and I get a black screen, other times a full reboot back to the log on screen. Build: ASUS Maximus V Formula 2 GTX 680 Signature 2's G Skill 16GB 2133 Ram 1200 Watt PSU (Overkill, I know) CPU and GPU's are water cooled. Monitor: DELL U2711, 2560x1440 Res Currently the GPU's have a 6 and 8 prong plugged in. I was thinking maybe just do 6 and 6 prong? I updated the drivers and did 86 windows updates. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
I seem to have fixed the problem... that was quicker than I thought it would be. So ignore thread or delete thread. Thanks
Well sad to say it's doing it again. Originally I unchecked the auto reboot option and then arma 2 and day z worked perfect. But now today I hopped on and decided to try crysis on full settings and that crashed with a reboot and now nothing wants to work again.
Sounds like poor power delivery to me, though it could equally be that one or both of the gpus is drawing too much power. Tried running with just the one GPU?
What CPU temps are you getting and do you have any safety shutdown stuff enabled in the bios Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
As above really, assuming you have good block contact and the temps are under control (which I'd bet they aren't), then your PSU is not delivering enough juice. Was the rig ever running well or is it a new build? Information: help us help you.
I'd say that its a GPU block contact issue, as a CPU contact issues tends to become an issue a little earlier.
Try with just one of the cards plugged in (depending on how much slack you have in your tubing you should be able to wiggle one out of it's slot), then try the other card. I'd guess at least one of your GPU blocks isn't making correct contact with the core and it's over-heating. Or it could be an obscure SLI bug, in which case, update your drivers and good luck.
The PSU is a CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200. Did try it with one GPU and the only one I tried still reacted the same. So maybe that's the one? CPU Temps coming from OCCT: Well these are weird temps.... last night they were normal. CPUTIN: 27°C CORE #0: 1.5°C CORE #1: 29°C CORE #2: 32°C CORE #3: 34°C 1.5°C...... that can't be right. GPU Temps coming from EVGA OC Scanner X: GPU 1: 38°C <---This is the one I tried by itself. GPU 2: 25°C <---This one has only ever been used with both being powered. When under load I can see temps up to 70°C on GPU 1 and 40ish°C on GPU 2. Thats in Arma 2 with half the settings on Very High. I tried to do a windows rating test and it crashed the computer at the start of Processor: Calculations per second. And the rig is newly built. Like 3 days old. And I don't have a whole lot of slack to move stuff around.
I disabled all fan speed readers in the bios. Don't know if they were affecting anything but it resulted in no changes. Because I was getting a CPU Fan Read Error message but not anymore.
Here is all of the BIOS, pictures were taken a matter of minuets ago. Hopefully this will help. http://s189.photobucket.com/albums/z252/nwyouth_forever/Computer BIOS/
Okay so downloaded Core Temp and Argus Monitor. I took pictures of the readings from both plus OCCT. No more 1.5°C reading in OCCT. Core Temp Argus Monitor OCCT
