A few weeks back I killed my Albatron GeForce4 Ti4600 card, I was depressed, and got myself an ATi Radeon 9500 card to replace it with (which is now patched to 9700 Pro ). As time has moved on and I have finished my grieving (I really loved my Albatron with it's blue PCB) I decided to make a really really expensive keyring out of it So out went the dremel and the work began The card as it was, dead, with RAM sinks removed - which pulled a few of the memory chips off with them The GPU-less board... The Ti4600 chip...oooo nice! GPU ready to be fitted : And the final product Looks damn sweet if I have to say so myself I now feel like a real geek
****ing A dude. Looks great, CPUs are so last week, GPUs are the way to go now Although if my video card ever dies, I cna't make a keyrong from it, well I could, but I lapped it to put the new cooling on it, so you'd just see a silver and black block.
Ah, so that's why my lungs are hurting so much I did use one of those white thin type of masks but it didn't work very well and it's the only thing I have. Wooops
yeah what ever you do don't inhale that stuff.... I worked for a sand and gravel company for a while years back and they have a real problem with silicosis from the dust when they grind the stone..... It does real nasty thing to you! @Lord_A - Schweet keyfob though!!!
What Are the Types, Symptoms and Complications of Silicosis? There are three types of silicosis, depending upon the airborne concentration of crystalline silica to which a worker has been exposed: Chronic silicosis usually occurs after 10 or more years of overexposure. Accelerated silicosis results from higher exposures and develops over 5-10 years. Acute silicosis occurs where exposures are the highest and can cause symptoms to develop within a few weeks or up to 5 years. I did inhale quite a lot of the stuff, that dust mask I have is just useless, my lungs are still hurting a little but I think that's more me being paranoid than anything else. Although my flat still stinks of the stuff, lol. Anyway from the link above it looks good for me since I haven't had enough exposure to worry about it. Thanks for the heads up though, and I will go searching for some proper dust / gas masks for the future.
I did exactly the same thing a while back, except I went cheap and used the n bridge of an old asus board, which I removed with a butter knife =). Too bad I ended up using it in an art project for school which has since been lost =(.
HOW CAN YOU BE SO CRUEL AS TO NOT GIVE IT A PROPER DEATH! JK JK!!! Great work! im going to go do that to an old Abit AMD Slot 1 mobo i ahve!!!
suggestion.... goto home depot what ever and get a nice 3m mask, I luv mine plus it has a few differen't filters works well t00
