    Budget: £1300
Main uses of intended build: gaming, programming, general use
Monitor resolution: i have 2 one is a tv at 1824x1026 and a computer monitor at 1680x1050 (will be replaced for bigger better but for now they are fine)
Storage requirements: 2tb is more then enough
    Will you be overclocking: yes
Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): one on the build is give or take exactly what i need

Im in my first year of uni i have £1300 budget but if i can spend less i will, the computer i have now wont upgrade any further mobo too old nd processor overclocked to max but if i can il keep it for use in lan parties as it is less expensive to lug around.

This build is my no fat version recycling disc drive, no case (i have a haf 932 atm)

This is my full fat build

What im asking is for suggestions, part of me is thinking dropping down to i5 ivy bridge but having top of the line parts means i wont need to upgrade soon im at uni until 2017 then possibly longer if i decide to do a masters so longer this can last the better.

If i have good reason to change parts i will

i can be tempted sir and good call on the psu wasnt 100% sure i knew 500w would be enough but as im not sure how much overclocking the gpu and cpu changes things i wanted to be sure but i doubt in the short term im going sli nor the long term tbh by the time i do get to that point il prolly have enough to upgrade the psu aswell

You could drop down to the 3570K to save some money, as it will make no difference in games.

You could also get a cheaper motherboard such as the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H or the GA-Z77X-D3H.

Remember to get 1.5V memory (such as Corsair Vengeance) instead of 1.65V.

According to Intel, the maximum RAM voltage for Ivy Bridge CPUs is 1.5V. 1.65V apparently works fine, but personally I prefer not to go out of spec when you can get 1.5V for the same price. 1.65V is for Sandy Bridge.
