    That's just gorgeous!

Haha, my ReactorMod is themed like this, but I will have there real rust :) It's way harder to paint something to look rusty then to actually rust it.
    Good job!

Just spotted that TJ07 casemod, too. Really like the idea of using mini-jacks for many/most wires. But somehow I feel that the project needed some "It's finished!" pictures?

    hehe :D
I have to confess I still feel a little sad when thinking of it since I really liked the design for it.
But maybe I will redo all of the case to give it a rebirth :)

I didn't have time to do some final shots yet since I don't own that big of a studio (or have enough room) to do some eye-candy pictures.
Here is one of the more standard shots I did for my facebook-account :hehe:

Wow love that build! ever since I saw Orac³ all those years ago I have wanted to do something with jacks!
These end caps and reservoirs are also totally drool worthy!

maRiio - really impressed by those distressed looking HDD cases.

I am trying to re start a stalled mod, and this look has really inspired me to have another go :).

You have got the paintwork spot on, it looks truly excellent!

Looks like I need to dremel up some aluminium case corners and get some good looking hex bolts.

At least I know the colour I'm looking for, a sand colour like desert tanks with a worn and dirty look on the top.

I just don't know how to do this without an airbrush.

Keep up the good work - your mods are top notch.

    Hi Arboreal,

thanks a lot for your nice words :) I appreciate it!

Like you mentioned a Dremel or a similar tool is totally needed when trying to get a look like this one here. You could try the same with a file but I won't recommend it since it's absolutely no fun to do it that way (i tried it haha).
The money which goes into buying a Dremel is totally worth it since it's a tool you can use everywhere in your future projects. Those things are mostly unbreakable - I got mine from my father and it's now about 12 years old :thumb:

Next thing on the list you absolutely need is an airbrush-gun. I bought an Evolution 2in1, which is about 150€. I already had a compressor for it so there was not additional money I had to spend.
I tried giving it the same effect with normal black color out of spray cans but it's nearly impossible to get smooth nuances and some color blendings.

:) looking forward to see your project come alive!

    Thx a lot guys

@Burnout21, not really. I try to stay away from military mods the best I can since there are plenty of them yet ;) My NAS will get a weathered style aswell, but in a different shape, form and color :)
