@ Altron: LOL Actually, I am... but my wife thinks: "hey, at least it isn't football..." But the costs of this project are spread over more than a year now. I was saving/planning/ordering long before I started posting! Anyway, a lot of the smaller items cost pennies. I hope to recover the costs on those flow switches though. I had to order ten, and I only needed one. But luckily, I have some interested potential buyers for those (see the Flow Switch thread in Extreme Cooling). Thing is, I just wanted to build the best constructed watercooled PC that can be (reasonably) built. Not exactly like the Flagship case at ExtremeMhz.com (I mean, there's got to be limits), and perhaps not the best performing (that would be a Bladerunner job) but something that balances build quality, style and practicality... Modding. Not just a hobby, but a way of life! @ Nihilist: Thanks dude. And contrary to your sig, I don't think you suck at all.
Ever thought of a MelvinPipe for your Aquatube ? Check it out HERE. Really cool visual effects ... Cheers [DE]FreD_S
Basically, yes. One: they divert the water inlet flow up against the lid of the res (why you'd need to do this I don't know... ), and two: they light up in a cool sort of way. PErhaps you can convince people you got a Dilithium crystal in there "Warp 9, Mr. Sulu..."
They do two things. First : When useing an Aquatube and not filling it to the top, you get condensation at the top. So what the Pipe does is, it divets the water to the top, thus getting rid of condensation and at the same time functioning as a flow indicator. Second : If you buy the pipe lighter it diverts the light to the tip of the pipe and illuminates the water which is really cool effect that looks as if fire were comeing out of the pipe when useing a red led. Pic curtesty of MODDING FAQ Cheers [DE]FreD_S
I like yur lcd...looks familiar and your case also hehehe, coming along nice! I should show u the handles I found
I like the custom alu bracket you made, very smart indeed. Where did you get your Laptop CDROM adapter, been looking through various google searches and cant find anything, did you search for hours to find it?
Phat Ass: I imagine he got it from either Kustom or Mini-ITX since he is in the UK. Nexxo: The project is coming along great and I can't wait to see it all finished - oh and I look forward to seeing what the 'interesting touches' you mentioned are going to be (you damn tease). Keep it up man
Yeah Nexxo Your mods are cool, I have a really small case Myself, So I can really appreciate what You've done there. But like a few others have said here "more, more, I must have more"
THIS IS SWEET! Well I got that out of my system! It just looks relay afctory done and nice and neat I love it! Yean and I too was considering duel cpus but I dont see any need do they help run the same task fatser or wat I dont understand?
Depends on the way they are set up. With regular multiprocessing the second CPU will only kick in if a second app is open. For example I open Quake 3. This uses the first processor's resources. The second one will be idling. If I then minimize it and open Excal the second processor will do computations for Excel. However if you have parallel computing setup, it is different. Again i would open Quake 3, but each processor would do half the work. If your dual-CPU setup had two 3GHz P4s, and you had a regular dual CPU setup, you have enough bandwidth to run 2 apps at 3GHz each. If you have parallel you can run one app at 6GHz, or two apps at 3GHz. Two seperate computers wired together with really fast networking and set to run parallel computing owuld be faster than a computer with two of the same processors. This is because they must share RAM and hard drives. However if you equipped the dual cpu system with dual channel DDR and a RAID setup (don't call it a RAID array, because you'll be saying Redundant Array of Independant Disk Array. That sounds stupid) it will become more comparable to the two single CPU systems. I hope I explained this correctly in a non-confusing way
Quote Show me show me show me! Pics!!! Oh no! Visions of two Watercooled PCs joined together in a cube...! Reaching for... wallet... Must... resist... modding... urge... now! Altron, dude, you put dangerous ideas into my mind...
//offtopic, how could you set up a parallel computing system //ontopic, i still want some of those water blocks, a GPU version would look sweet.
