Ubisoft announced that it had been hacked by an unknown party or parties, and that an undisclosed number of user accounts had been compromised. https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ.a...=2030&productid=3888&faqid=kA030000000eYZ2CAM I would strongly advise people to change passwords if they have a ubisoft or uplay account.
Yea just got an email from Ubisoft saying that I was going to check it was genuine before clicking any links though.
The links in the email (at least the one that I got) point to ubi.com, so I guess it is a legitimate email. Slightly worried that this occurred, but glad that the press release did not beat the customer email warnings. Still, Ubisoft only stores hashes of passwords, not the passwords themselves, so I'm pretty sure I'm still secure.
According to Google it is - the top result for 'Ubisoft' is ubi.com. Equally, Wikipedia (yes, I know, not credible really but still) says ubi.com is the website for Ubisoft.
Yes, ubi.com is their site. Plus all the big gaming sites are reporting it. Got the email earlier too, oh well, another site to add to the list that's been hacked.
Well it seems that I have two accounts with them. Odd. I really don't remember creating either, unless it was back when I bought Hawx Poo (2) and had to faff around for ages trying to use their horrible DRM even after I bought it on Steam? I gave up in the end and got a refund on Steam.
I've got two aswell, one is linked to no games at all from what I can tell, unless it's the original HAWX or something. Checked it was legit too before clicking the link as I didn't trust the email, . Had the same email to both my accounts and both passwords changed. As rob said, nice they were quick on the ball in getting the message out. A surprising +1 to Ubisoft there,
It seems we all have a very healthy dose of paranoia! I put this in my quarantine email folder before doing anything with it!
I logged in to my account with intention of changing password and got a msg pop up saying l should change my password
Same here, so i went onto there site itself and it was there straight away asking for password change.
