    OS hardware
    (built in Summer 2011)
    CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K
    Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Rev3, Intel P67,
    Ram: Corsair xms3 1600 4GB
Graphics card: 1GB MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC
Power Supply: Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 (OEM)

Problem: When I turn on my PC, it starts up, then shuts down, then starts up again (- As if the power was unplugged and replugged mid boot.)

Nothing shows on the monitor although the PC is running normally. Fans graphics card etc.

I looked online but i haven't found any solutions which work for me.

This is what I've tried so far.
I bought a new PSU and tried it. (old one was an antec power trio i think)
    I re-inserted the RAM.
    I've re-inserted the psu plug.
I've flashed the BIOS (i think) by taking out the battery of the mother board and replacing it.)
    I've re-inserted the graphics card.
    I've tested different monitors.

Apart from the stuttering boot and nothing showing on display, everything inside seems to be working fine. :(

I think the problem might be that the power suppply from the wall was an old one, and maybe it's blown the motherboard?

Does anyone have any advice of what I should do? I haven't kept up with PC related stuff for a while.

    Advice:
Is there anything else I can try?
Can somebody recommend me a decent/affordable motherboard I can buy to try?
    (I don't overclock)
When I place my cpu in the new motherboard, do i need to buy new conductivity gel?
I have a back up image of my windows and data on a hard disk. Can I recover my windows image onto a new motherboard? -is there anyway i can avoid buying another copy of windows?

    :wallbash::sigh:

Have you updated the bios ? In your bios tell us what version you are running.

The latest bios for that motherboard is 3602 and is available here - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67/#support

There have been numerous bios releases since the original release of the motherboard, it could well be something as simple as that.

Where abouts are you located ?

have you used the memok button?
    removing battery only resets bios.
asus website tells you how to flash the bios.

I'm located in london, uk. I can't tell what version of BIOS I'm running as nothing appears on my display monitor. Its blank.

I'll try to use the Asus website to flash BIOS and I'll report back here in a second.

Silly but, you have plugged your monitor into your graphics card, and not your m/board?

Could you uninstall your graphics card, and plug your monitor into your m/b to see if the onboard graphics work?

I searched online to use the memok button. The red light was on. I turned on Pc. No post. I held the memok button and the light is flashing. PC turned itself of and on a few times. Now the pc is still on and the red light remains on, but no longer flashing.

the light should go out. try holding the button, then turn the pc on, it can take ages to sort it self out. my m/b took four or five goes before it worked

if still no good then try with only one stick of memory and with everything removed ie: drives and cards.

    Try this!

Pull the graphics card and connect to onboard vga.
