I wanted to purchase few mp3 albums until I noticed the US market has cheaper pricing than the UK market. Why is this so? Is this due to VAT? Is it legal to buy from the US market from the UK market even if I'm not living in the US? Maybe a random address generator?
Well I would say its not because of UK tax because they don't pay any , Its just because they can charge more over here, kudos for buying your music though, CDs 4tw mind.
There's still VAT which is more than you pay in sales tax in the US. The UK is generally more expensive though (because we're just better ).
In US, sales tax is not included in the sticker price, it is added at the checkout. In UK sales tax is included in sticker price. For digital (MP3 / Steam keys / etc) just add an extra address to your Amazon UK account with a valid US State & zip code combo - Alaska seems to work best to avoid sales tax (it has none!).
