I've been exclusively a Mac user since 2007, this week I'm buying a new gaming PC and returning to Windows.

What are the essential free/cheap bits of software I should get? It'll be a Windows 7 build. My last PC was XP.

I'm thinking of things like antivirus, firewall etc.

    Thanks :thumb:

On the lines of free stuff. Microsoft security essentials or AVG will do for anti virus and Malware bytes free version. That pretty much should cover you.

another to add from the malwarebytes library is malwarebytes anti-exploit, this protects against zero-day vulnerabilities
