I was wondering if there was such a thing as a 120mm LED fan, or even a UV sensitive one, and if so, where could I get one?

I've looked high and low but have only been able to find shiny ones or normal black ones. :sigh:

All the LED fans seem to be 80mm!!

Thanks for that. I was beginning to think they didn't exist at all!

And there's a good selection at Kustom PCs, which is currently my favourite online shop (as long as they get the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu in soon :D)

    Cool, thanks!

So which is better - an Akasa or Antec one?

Sorry for all these questions, I'm a bit of a newbie to this whole case modding stuff, as you can probably tell!

Well, my Akasa 120mm fan doesn't push much air, and it's not very bright, and rather loud. I'm not too impressed with their products as a whole, whereas Antec are double-plus good :D I'd be willing to try em out and see, but those YS-Tech UV reactive ones on over-clock also tickled my fancy...look at the CFM on those babies :D

What do those UV-reactive ones actually look like when they're spinning?

And do they only light up if they're under UV light, or something? How do they work - ie. do they need to 'charge up' during the day and let it all out at night?

Complete newbie, as I said. :p

I don't know about those UV fans, but I can tell you about the Vantec ones - they look like colour-tinted clear fans in normal light, but when they are illuminated with a UV cathode or UV LEDs, they glow all over - rather pretty. If you don't have a source of UV light or a window in your case they're rather useless, though.

I'd go for an Antec one! I used to have an Akasa heatsink with blue LED fan on my CPU, the fan was really dull and the heatsink was useless! Rated as cooling an XP2600+ but didn't even manage my 2100+! Not that it had anything to do with the fact that my 2100+ is a palomino and the 2600+'s were thoroughbreds of course (clearer description perhaps Akasa?)!

Shame that Sunbeam don't seem to make 120mm LED fans, as their 80mm fans are both bright and push a lot of air! Really long cable on them too!

    Ade:idea:
