Doubt a new CPU would make a huge amount of difference...
Think one guy ran tests with a 900 P3 and got very similar scores with a much higher clocked CPU....
Get no diff (well very little) in score with cpu @ 2.3 or 1.9....

bare in mind id be moving from a t-bird to a xp and that diff is pretty big, well, judging from friends systems anyway.. and teh extra 1ghz speed, i can see a decent move in the scale.

    3127 3D Mark's in 03
    10480 3D Mark's in 01

    Spec: 2000XP, 512 PC2700 DDR, 128mb 9600pro

Is this about right? Seems a little low to me.

It looks right to me, 3DMark 2001 is quite CPU Limited.

3DMark 2001 is very CPU intense, and also relies on having great memory bandwidth, the more FSB you can give your proc the better your score will be :)

    I get 10500+ with my GF3 (2 1/2 years old), but that's cos I'm running a Barton 2500+ @ 2500Mhz :)

4x Anisotropy maean you have anisotropic filtering engaged.

Anisotropic filtering is a method of improving textures quality in the distance.

    Check out this article.
