My trusty MX518 has finally (sort of) died.
I have neither the time nor the patience to try and fix her.

Any suggestions on what the replacement should be?

    I replaced mine with a G403.
The other choice I concidered was a sensei 310

I replaced one with a G402 and several years later it's still going, the DPI switch is surprisingly handy.

I never had an MX518 but I must say that I concur with the above. The G402 is great, but the 502 is even better - I have both. It’s so comfortable and was a steal at 40 quid when it was on sale. I can thoroughly recommend either.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the G402 also, I've had mine forever and it's still going strong :thumb:

The G502 is another great rodent which gets my endorsement to

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Will try and get myself a new mouse if there's any money left in the budget next month!

More love for the 402 and 502 here. You should take a trip to your local Currys PC World as they will (or should) have all their gaming mice on display.

My decision to go with the 502 was based entirely on how it felt in my hand when I was at the shop, and I like the extra functionality over the 402 as a bonus. I used to have the MX518 and then moved to the G9/G9x for several years. I had a fling with the G700 but that didn't last long because (foolishly) I bought it online without trying it first. Try before you buy! :D

I also say go for the 502. I really like the fact that you can add or take away weights from it. I like my mice to feel heavy which my old MX518 was quite the old weighty beast. I regret lending it to one of my house mates who did heaven knows what to it. In the end I had to bin it !
