Ok so after seeing the article by Macroman I have decided that I will mod a PSU myself. What ever next lol (this is if I ever get a working rig)

I'm going to use the Qtec 550 Watt twin fan from ebuyer.co.uk
    QuickFind code: 34825

Then addeding a cover. (Before I go on I will tell you my new case colour theme is blue and orange)
This is where I start to get problems. I have 3 options:
    UV reactive
    Blue
    Orange

I also want to change the fans. I'm thinking either blue LED or orange UV ones.

I want to spiral wrap the wires in I think blue.

    What do you think?
Some one give me some ideas about the colours as I am not totaly sure if a blue LED fan in a oragne cover will look nice or just nasty.

    Thanks

I think its safe to say that I would have the most input on this issue, lol.

I would wait on the cover, as you might find a new revised version from cuttingedge.com coming out very soon ( :D )
Also, why not swap all your molex to UV reactive blue and red (which is really orange lol). Just grab some of these UV reactive power cables and nab the molex off them! Next, Use some UV Blue paint and spray up some neon blue sleeving and use either orange or blue heatshrink to finish it off! For the fans, you could go the Vantec UV led series, or use a generic like this .

NOTE: while I did link to SVC on several things, I really don't reccommend ordering from them, unless you have to. Their shipping markup is huge! :eeek:

Here is one that i have done, its the UV blue cover, with uv orange braiding.
I plan to add some of my UV molex connectors, UV fan and a 4" UV cathode but i got to say the sunbeamtech PSU covers fit really well.
I decided to screw my cover on rather than use the double sided tape you get with it. Very easy to do and well worth it in the end.

These are the UV molex connectors, they look fantastic when lit up.

    thanks for all the ideas.

Ideas that I have pretty much sorted in my slow brain (I have a cold)

    Molex's UV blue and orange/red
    Cable Braiding UV orange.

carloshax is the blue cable braiding on your site UV reactive?
Have you or has anyone else got photos of the UV cable braiding lite up?

Does anyone know where I can get UV fans from in the UK?

Think I might go for the UV blue cover as I will have 2 orange exhast fans just under the PSU so don't want to much orange.

    Hi ChegsJAR

The blue braiding does not glow under UV, as for the UV fans i have em on my site. Here is a picture of the braiding under UV:

Here is a picture of the uv fans:

i must get some more images done of braiding under uv, this will have to do for the time being.

I plan to use one of my uv fans in the psu and also pop in one of my 4" uv cathodes so it glows a treat.

good luck with your mod :thumb:

I think the pic in his site store is stretched a little and you're seeing the actual size of the picture when you click to enlarge

Fly gave me permission to pimp in the sig, and he also added the avatar. I was a bit-tech member b4 i started the store and if im being honest bit-tech was one of the inspirations behind starting the store. I think we need to go back to this thread topic otherwise it will just get closed. I will shorten my sig so i keep everone happy :D

BTW G-gnome the "G-gnome's Orac³" is fantastic
