where can i get my hands on Dupli Colour Mirage, its a type of paint that changes colour depending on the angle the light hits it at. i know this stuff is easy to get in the usa but how about here in britain?
Have you tried the ads in Max Power? Advertisers in that "august tome" would be most likely to sell it.
in the states (Oregon to be exact) I have found the Mirage paint in several places: 1. Michael's Craft store-they tend to have stone paint, marble paint, antique'd paint, and they also have the Mirage paint. 2. AutoZone-they carry lots of accessories and "pretty" car parts, as it turns out, they have this stuff too. 3. Craft Warehouse-like Michael's, might not have multiple colors of this stuff. Couple things I learned when painting my Chenming 601AE tower- I used 3 packs of the stuff (@$20 each US). The effect isn't very pronounced if used for the interior of the case. Mine successfully looks "inky" dark unless illuminated to a very high degree (2 Green CCFls, Red LazerLED, 3 strobes at the time). If you are going to try a high gloss look, don't sand a repaint with the Mystique layer, you won't have enough IMO. Just my thoughts after using it. Its pretty dark in tone. Sorry, just re-read and realized you are not in US...but try autoparts stores anyway. Wal-Mart equivalent? Big Craft shops.
Mirrage Paint? thats one i've not heard. How many different names can one type of paint have? (Irridescant, Flip Paint, Chamelon Paint, i'm sure theres some more) Last time i looked in my local Halfords i saw a few cans of the stuff. ...
err, dude mirage is a brand name not a nickname and thanks for the tips, ill look in halfords and b&Q, adios
I believe that shucks also carrys it around these parts, but they are kinda hit and miss on most of their stock Where exactaly in the portland area? I'm in Tigard, by Tualatin and Sherwood
Good luck on your search. It is very popular in the states and is in most auto supply stores and I found bunches of info on how to use it on the Internet. Would like to see how it comes out for you. Be sure and post some pics.
Go out to the news agent. Buy a "Max Power" magazine (but first read the ads to see if you can find what you need). Best get a professional car body painters to do the case for you. This paint takes skill to apply.
