Is there anywhere in the U.K. that has in stock Logitech c920 c920s or c922 at around £100 or lower there are a lot of people trying it on or bidding far to high to what it's worth on ebay does anyone know a place or even have one for sale they want to get rid of ? I dont have access to the market place as I don't post often enough
Keep an eye on the Logitech site - they come in and out of stock there with some regularity. I got a Streamcam not long ago - just a matter of checking every few days.
The logitech webcams are such a clear example of one of the effects of Coronavirus C920 was on amazon for £24.99 at one point, you'll now struggle to find one for less than £80.... https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B006A2Q81M
Yep, all you'll find at sub-£30 right now are the equivalent of a Happy Meal toy. My son's webcam died about a month or so back and I went through the same sh!tty voyage of discovery, before finding a HDcam in the cupboard that has a webcam feature.
After a quick google there are various methods of using your mobile phone as a web cam, so it may be worth giving that a go, the quality will be vastly better thats for sure!
I saw it in the thumb nail of LTT's video yesterday (although I haven't actually watched the video!) and gave it a google. Lots of hits so one should work! Most seem like apps you can just install on your phone, so hopefully its that simple!
Droidcam works incredibly well with one of my Galaxy Note 4s. I haven't tried out the audio yet though.
There's practically zero webcams from any trusted brand in distribution. The entire UK stock (along with every business class laptop) sold out completely back in April. Things are getting back to normal with supply chains but still no ETA on things like webcams
Streamcams are now back in stock... until they're not. If you are, or have any student acquaintances, discount will net you one at £110
yeah the ones I got my eye on with the Logitech site are still out of stock I have droid cam setup for now thx to Bloody Petes suggestion it's a good solution but not ideal to have my phone connected all the time
Quick update. I've had a supplier let me know that 5040 Logitech C920's will be at disty in the next 3-4 days. However they're looking at around £65+VAT trade so probably £90-100 inc VAT in stores/online
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B084V4VKB6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 got one of those coming instead as I can use my phone as a webcam for streaming & zoom calls
I also went that route using a long disused samsung GS5, so my folks could do zoom with friends. You need to get the paid version (DroidCamX) to get 16:9 720p, but it's only $5, so it's well worth it compared to the price of a full blown webcam.
DroidCam messed up my phone (or was it Windows that it messed up?) but iVcam works great, both in Wi-Fi mode and USB mode.
