    Hey Guys,

    Hope you can help me???

I'm looking to make my own diffuser on the car - have the ideas drawn out etc.

I'll be cutting this into 8mm Polyethylene sheet which i hope to be able to bond together. What should i be using? i did think i could possibly also use self tapped screws but will still need a form of adhesive.

The whole lot will then be painted gloss black and silkaflex-ed to the car.

Anyone able to advice what i could use? either from Amazon or off the shelf somewhere?

PE doesn't stick to anything in my experience. That's why it's used to contain glues. I don't think it will paint well, either.

    Has material been bought?

Because I'd consider making it out of carbon fibre or something. Easy composites kits are the bees knees for stuff like that IME.

I've never stuck PE to anything either.

PE is a very waxy plastic and no glues will work with it.
Plastic welding is the only option. I use a cheap hot air
SMD rework station with PE welding rods bought off the Bay.
My carpet cleaning extractor has a HDPE body, and split
the recovery tank, Plastic welded at if i remember 270°C.
Upon returning to work following a stroke, machine still leaking
from underneath, with my brain not working in it's usual methodical
way i assumed the weld failed. Bought the only tank available in the
country, (the importers have never sold one in 10 years of machine supply).
I then discovered a totally unrelated leak. The weld worked and withstands
vacuum pressure of 16 mm Hg, a lot of flexing.

PS if you know anyone who needs a recovery Tank for a Powrflite 1350Ph.
i have the only one outside North America :duh:
