IKEA light fittings are coming and, as is quite normal for them, they only have live and neutral connections.

Now, the spare earth. I don't fancy just whacking electrical tape on it and tucking it away so am I right in thinking I can just wire it into a small 5A terminal (such as https://www.toolstation.com/connector-strip/p88321 ) and hide that in the mounting?

Certainly not going to cut it off.

    Ta muchly.

You sure there isn't an earth post or terminal somewhere in the light fitting? Is it made of plastic or metal?

Double insulated. IKEA often make them like it with only live & neutral.

Plastic housing afaik, perhaps I should ask after I have them in hand this week

E: Plus if just wiring into a single terminal block 5A or 6A? I've seen both recommended. Ta. :)

Stick a wago 221 (or push wire) on it and tuck it out the way. Sorted.

    That's very kind.

I may just PM you in the near future. I think they're coming this week but I'm also dealing with a very poorly cat at the moment so I'm not sure when anything's happening.
