Well yes, the LP's probably been pressed from the same digital master.

But I would expect the vinyl to sound worse than the MP3s, given a decent-enough bitrate and no outlier stuff that the psychoacoustic coding doesn't like, 'cos making music by wobbling a needle back and forth in a plastic groove is... well, yeah. The fact it sounds the same (to my admittedly-cloth ears) means my new record player is Good Enough for Me. Which is nice.

Something with a bit of a beat for this rainy Monday morning.

Careful, you'll have the wobbly spike mafia coming after you. Remember it sounds warmer and the bitrate of an analogue signal is yes. That should be enough to placate them... for a while.

That's what gets me about modern vinyl people. Yeah, great, you got a "more authentic sound" or whatever guff they come up with - But it's still most likely come from a digital master, which rather defeats the point as far as I can tell..

This caught me in just the right mood:

There's not a day can't be improved with a bit of Yoko Kanno.

Is that the one and only non-anime vinyl? :p

    If in doubt, metal!

Full Pain Remains Trilogy in one long studio video or brutal awesomeness. The additional cleans at the end of Pain Remains 1 is.... haunting..

I like the Blackbird cover. Was unsure at first but it's really good.

I too did some record listening this morning:
    Daft Punk's Random Access Memories
The Ting Tings' We Started Nothing, pink and purple marbled, looks really cool.

    EDIT:
Bob Moses' Desire, transparent with black smoke effect, it's a gorgeous record. Probably my most valuable record (if I hadn't opened it). Definitely did not pay discogs price for it, got it on release at retail value.

    Stilz - RX-81

Skimming through bandcamps synthwave I tripped over this; cracking little chillwave album.

can't say I'm much a fan of Kanno, very overrated imo.
