has anyone used the little tool "the nibbler"? I was cutting a window last night and ended up just using it for the rounded corners and used dremel for the straight lines... 2 hours and blisters. we suffer for our mods
use it all the time for finishing off curves, straightening corners, etc. Learned my lesson a while back though: Wear a leather work glove and keep your fingers out of the way of the bottom of the handle.
$8- $12 USD .... and mine is practically indestructable ...they are slow as hell but a nice tool to have if you wanna cut a blowhole or window and live in an apartment with cranky neighbors. and the little metal chunks are much easier to pick up than dremel leavings anydayhere.
Hmm... RadioShack... Thanks guys that's good to know because I have a friend that is going to try to add a window in his PC. He lives in a apartment so that would be the best tool for him. I'm not too keen about letting him use my Dremel.
Better tell him that if he's gonna cut a window with a Nibbler, be prepared for a lonnnnngggggg project. And take some arthritis pills for his hand...he's gonna need it.
lol... I agree, I planned on cutting the window on the top panel of my case (not the big one on the side panel) while I watched tv... didn't take me long to surrender to just the rounded corners... at 10 0'clock I was in the garage with the dremel cutting the straight sides... still, a must have
the great thing about hand nibbler is the detail, all the power nibblers I have seen are a little too aggressive, not to mention very expensive... I went shopping for one recently...
Never heard of a power nibbler, but not sure how much control one would have doing the curve work with one of those.
an air driven nibbler sounds cool. The power nibblers I have seen are like big cordless drills, make for fast work on metal but not extremly articulate...
