Hi All, I need help I am looking to geta newer quieter DVDRW I have been looking are the following drives any suggestions would be great: Plextor PX-708A Sony DWU-14A Pioneer DVR-107 I have two major requirements, one is speed the other is noise. With the noise thing I mean when these DVD are spinning a CD at X52 i want quite, same goes when they are burning.
Hmm, I'm not going to be much help here. My pioneer 106 is quieter than my old slot loader pioneer DVDrom for playing by a huge margin. Its also quieter than my old Liteon 40/48X cd burner when writing/playing. However its not as quite as most stand alone DVD players I've come across when reading. I suppose its subjective as I'm closer to the tower case :-/
Pioneer have a good rep for DVDRW, ive not heard any complaints about them. Peronslly i have a sony one and its been great, not had one single coaster from it
TBH I think everything's quieter than a pioneer slot-loader, those things are hella noisy I haven't heard anything but good things about their DVDRW drives though, I'm gonna get myself a 107 soon I think.
I'm currently thinking bout getting a similar dvdrw too... Leaning towards the plextor, but reading on ebuyer there's and asus drive that is claimed to be a re-badged pioneer 106 i think for something like £56+vat.
