thanks, I have dropped the chemical metal, talked to a friend that had real bad experiences with it ... I am going to use epoxy to fill in the cracks in the L-brackets. I am not going with bondo since the joints might want to flex a bit, and I am not confident that a bondo like filler would hold up ... The drive assembly is glued to the top of the case with the same epoxy, and it has been hardening since yesterday, will test it tonight.
