I was playin with LCD modules (the molax powering it) while it was turned on, and my hard drive went bang, with a puff of smoke. It now doesnt recognise my hdd. Im fairly convinced ive blown it to bits, but wonder is there a way to get them fixed, or am i best just ordering a new one now?

Try claiming warranty if possible. If your standard warranty has expired try it at the manufacturer directly, some of them tend to be nice.
And so another lesson learned; never mess with powerplugs while yer PC is turned on!

/i do it all the time myself :worried:
