i recently bought this DIY amplifier electronic kits and assembled it.. for speaker out and ground its ok.. because it makes a thump sound when i feed it the 12V it requires for the line in .. left and right, they didn't give me any female RCA connectors... and i know RCA cables have braided wires to act as ground to avoid disruption of the signals.. so i just soldered the Red wire to the right input and the ground around it to the ground, and the white wire to the left input and the ground too.. i just bought an adapter 3.5mm jack to red and black RCA connector for the amplifier.. but i couldn't find the rca females so i tried to see if it worked by touching the bare rca input cables to the adapter... however no sound came out.. 1)how do i wire RCA plugs? 2) what are Right IN, Left IN and ground next to the IN channels on the etched circuit board?
1) your connections sound about right to me 2) maybe a pic would help, pretty tough to guess with having never seen the kit ot diagrams If you just touched the center conductor of one male RCA connector to another, that won't work, you'll need to conect their grounds as well. So you maybe just need the female connectors.
an RCA connector is designed to carry two signals so both the middle pin and the outer must be connected to the amplifier....
ok.. now i got the females... hooked up the ground to the outer shell and the red and white wire to the middle of each red and black female... connected all of it up... no sound at all... however when i off the PSU, a short rough sound comes out thru the speakers and it sounds like its coming from the IN part.. so i dont know why it just happens when i off it.. my PSU has 3A 12v rails.. and on the manual it says AC 12V-0-12V minimum 2A... i couldn't have wired anything wrong... could it be the powersupply? or maybe one of the components are not working properly... ummm.. the schematics here.. but my scanners a lil shaky rite now..
let me the audio buff handel this 1 make sure all ground connsctions are coneted 2 make sure u the speaers hooked up to the right spot 3 never try diy kits unless ( not saying u dont ) u no what u r doing 4 make sure u have put all of the compaciters and reasisters are the correct ways round if u cheack all these and they are right u ****ed the amp
they are connected properly.. and grounded properly.. i better go and check that the connections are ok..
