Lower costs to ISPs should (Fingers Crossed) mean reduced costs to us punters. Which, of course, is a good thing. This from the Beeb:

Telecoms giant BT has unveiled a 70% reduction in the price of broadband access for its rival providers.

The firm said it was reducing the charge for its local loop unbundling (LLU) products, which are used by its rivals to provide their services.

The news came ahead of an announcement by regulator Ofcom on the issue - which could shake up the firm's dominance of the internet broadband market.

The move will boost competition and promote lighter regulation, BT said.

Last month Ofcom chief executive Stephen Carter attacked BT for overcharging rival telecoms operators to access the local loop.

    More here.

AdslGuide are also reporting cuts in BT's IPStream product costs, (BTSpeak for the various ADSL speeds) and the fact that certain ISPs are lobbying BT to Drop the activation fee.

its good when your exchange is like 15 minutes lazy walk down the road. (HA HA u and your pay/min dial up). I'm considering getting 1Mbit as soon as my 12 month contract expires for my current ISP. whoot 1Mbit for the same price as my current 512. just as a side question is PIPEX good? Has anyone else got good stories or horror stories bout them?
