The steps were photographed in sequence.

    Mod specs

Grill is 80mm, but you must cut 92mm hole in order for rim to sit flush inside hole

The wheels are from R/C Truck. Hotbodies Predators

Fasteners are 2" 10/24 machine screws w/ 1/4" alum sleeves and 10/24 acorn nuts.

The ABS plastic surface beneath chrome finish is a disgusting brown color once you cut it. paint it!

That adhesive glue is from Home Depot. Let it cure for 24hrs. Great product by GOOP brand

    Looks awesome man !

one question.. does it add to the niose level of the fan at higher CFM ?
I can imagine it would whistle a little bit or I may be crazt as usual..

    Vazz

just looked at the price... just under $5 for each rim hmm not toooo bad but just a little too pricey for my cheap arse

Very nice mate. Looks kinda like those high dollar spinners on trucks. Would be neat for a theme of that sort. And maybe the air from the fan could make them spin a little? Either way excelent guide, good stuff. :thumb:

    AWEsome idea!

for usefulness- what scale trucks/wheels are we looking for here? there's more than a LITTLE variation between rim size and scales.

The info. says that inner bead diamiter is 3" ... most 1/8 scale rims

As soon as I saw that, I instantly thought of the spinner versions. Proline makes some spinners for the T/E-Maxx.

For anyone looking to do this, just visit hobby shops (online or locally) and look for rims for the T/E-Maxx or Savage, or just make sure its T/E-maxx compatible, and you'll find the size needed......so long as its the regular size. They make ones called "40-series" and "BigJoes" as well, but those are larger in diameter than the regular ones.

I might have to do spinner ones in a project.
