I've got a bottle of 100% pure isopropylalcohol to clean the compound of my cpu. Do you guys know what the best proportion of IPA is? (how much IPA mixed with water or any other fluid...)

    thx

water down??? i would just use it pure, use a cotton-bud or something similar, dip in the isopropylalcohol and apply to the cpu

just use it pure. Watering it down will only give you trouble as its going to take longer to completely evapourate.

on a side note, alcohol has only a very very small amount of residue, but many people do a final clean with Pure water to remove the residue. although you must make sure its 100% dry before applying new thermalpaste when using water ;)

i've always cleaned my cpu's with 100% alcohol, then waited 30seconds for it to evapourate, and never had a problem.
