w00t! just bought this bad boy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...6470&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT#ebayphotohosting

gonna hook it up with this as soon as I get some $ which'll be another week:
    Swiftech MCW6000-P Water Block - Pentium4
Swiftech MCW20 Universal Chipset Water Block
    Swiftech MCW50 Video Water Block
    Innovatek Small Tank-O-Matic
    Tygon Anti-Kink 3/8" ID Tubing
EDIT: Danger Den Black Ice Xtreme II 120mm Radiator (Black)
Hydor L35 or Swiftech MCP600 12v Rev. 2 Water Pump

first Im gonna paint the case all black then use the extra 5.25" drives to house my hdds and make hdd silencers out of foam

    im psyched!

Honestly unless you're using 15kRPM SCSI drives, there's no sense in watercooling a hard drive unless you have money to blow on the blocks. As long as they have a couple CFM going over them, that's plenty.

    Regardless, it looks promising.

actually, contrary to what you may think, no more cooling is needed for them than any normal drive, and slight airflow and reasonable ambients are more than enough to keep them in ship shape

15k drives are made to be especially tough and take a lot of punishment, as one of their main uses is in mission critical servers, where they can really take a battering

new plans are to paint the outside glossy blue and the inside glossy black

I will cut out all the spots for 80mm fans since the grills are too restrictive and repalce them with my own fan grills

the 120mm radiator will go above the psu , and i will cut out a hole in the top of the top panel for the fan to blow the hot air out of

im gonna use a 5.25" bay reservoir that will go in the top bay, then ill have a fan controller that I will mod to control on/off for case fans as well as 12v and 7v speeds

I will stealth the drives, although it will be tricky because the covers for them are curved, but I'll make it work

still havent thought about a window design but it looks like it will a very easy dremel job

as far as hdds go, Im not gonna wrap them in foam for heat reasons, instead i will just normally stack them with some space until i can get enough money to buy hdd WC blocks

EDIT: Mods, do you think you can move it back to the project log section?

I think I see a bare spot on the frame at the bottom of the drive cages, other than that, looks good. You don't need to paint the inside of the outer panel (make sense?) I see unless you have a window, in which case you will probably want to do the whole thing blue, not just the outside.

Yeah, I see it too. It's like a little white circle. I doubt that it's an unpainted area, but it looks kinda wierd. It's in the last pic.
