    Hello Everyone,

I've only been at these forums for a little while, but i am inspired by some of the other mods ive seen... But anyway, on with the mod...

****QUICK NOTE**** I have changed all of the work seen in this post, for new and relevent work see post #32****

The case is a 1987 Compaq Portable III
    Orginal Specs:
    12 Mhz Proccesor
    64 KB Ram
    20 MB Hdd
    5.25" Floppy Disk Drive
    8" Plasma Display

    The New Spec will be:
    P4 2.4B
    Shuttle FS-51 Motherboard
80GB WDSE HDD (Case will have expansion room for another HDD)
    512MB Geil PC3200 Ram (512mb x 1)
Video Card, There are some complications that will need to be resolved before a card will be chosen.
    480w Coolmax Fanless Modular PSU

The entire case will be painted black, with brushed alum. mesh grills, and accents of chrome.

The Following will be a picture log of the progress made so far, a few parts are still needing to be purchased before further progress can be made.

***Pics removed due to BW issues, See post 32 for new pics;)***

More to come after parts arrive...

Feel Free to leave comments or ideas..

    -Brad

ive seen one on there before, for about $40 USD
the orginal screen was only orange and black... It looked like an Apple II screen except the difference in colors... Therefore using Windows XP Pro with it wouldn't be practical, or even fesable...

For the mesh I gathered all the anicent speakers I could muster and used the grills off them, which worked out since I'm not going to be needing the speakers anyway :)

All i typed in was "Compaq Portable III" and I got two results... Try to be more creative next time :p
