If i left my PC on 24/7 mostly doing downloads... would it put my electric bill up much?

looking at that spec, based on a 10p kilowatt hr should be less than £1sterling per day for system. Wouldn't recommend leaving monitor on all the time, I switch mine off when not in use, or stick the PC in hibernation (not much use for downloads though I must admit!).

Not a problem mate. Hibernation is different to standby as the whole pc shuts down as normal, but all the running processes *sp* and memory is saved to HD, so next boot up the pc is as u left it! I don't think standby runs the CPUs tbh, just keeps the memory and apps open.

Wouldn't even worry about leavin it on. The price wouldn't probably even be that noticable, and you can always compensate,. Turn off thes when your own the computer. I turn my monitor off too, but thats becasue when I sleep.... I like it dark. A a90f+ definitley doesnt help that

Is there any software that you can setup to shutdown at a certain time?

schedule a windows task to run shutdown.exe located in the system32 folder of the windows folder at a certain time.

You can also use shutdown.exe -f command to force a shutdown

and -t 5 to force shutdown within 5 seconds.
