Modding Extra long USB header leads

    OK, i need to add some front mounted USB ports on my PC, so i though i'd get one of thos USB backplates (that go at the rear of a case) and remove the socket of the Backplate and stick it at the front, but the leads arent long enough, and i can fine any longer ones

    - what do you modders do for front USB sockets??

    cut the wires and solder with suitable wire :) doddle :D

    about that

    Usb is serial right? so then my additional extensions don't have to exactly be the same length, correct? what about firewire? I mean i'll try to get the extension wires the same lenght, but it really won't cause a problem, yes?
