Networks Can I Replace this DSL Modem with a Server PC?

    Firstly you'll need a DSL modem for the Server itself, as it wont be able to just plug directly into the phone line (unless you buy a PCI/USB ADSL modem).
    You could always use the Router you've shown as a Modem and turn off its firewall capabilities (Half bridge mode to do this if i remember correctly?) and then use the server as the firewall by placing it between your network and the modem.

    I agree
    the routers for home use dont really have much power in them.
    either spend some big loto on a nice cisco one or use your server and the modem :)
