As the title may(!) suggest, I want some info on AT form factor (That the old, pre-ATX standard). I have a old Dell Poweredge server (Dual P1's) and I want to mod the case to house my new Athlon 64 3600 system. Now, it's not that easy im afraid, no pics but.. Code: +---------------+ | | | | | | | | +---------------+ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | +-----------+ | | | P S U | | | +-----------+ | +---------------+ ===/ \=== Is the rough layout, the top "shelf" is where the daughterboad where the psi + ISA slots lives (Aswell as ATX s) power in, and SCSI (Fifteh Pin!) went into. The "bit" down the side is where the mobo was. Can you post some links to other AT-ATX mods/project logs, I had a good look but AT being under the search limit thing and it not being in too many topics makes it hard . Help! I'll post lots of pics if I can find the card reader thing. Thanks in advance! [Edit: Some ******* broke the world, use you imagination ]
You say you're modding an AT case to house an ATX system. What information are you requiring? The old PSU will be incompatable with the new system you propose to install. As far as I can see all you need to know is gut the case, , install new PSU/mobo/rear blanking plate an voila! You're done. Should this be moved to hardware or modding?
Err, yeah something like that. New PSU is obviously needed, it's got AT style power switch (That's not soft-power) and an ATX connecter, strange. I'll post pics just because it's a pretty funky PSU. Like, how do the mesurments.. mesure up (no pun). What about the slotty bits (Where the X-Cards live). Stuff like that. (Pic is here, it's below the dumb terminal!) Thanks Imageshack for the hosting, I love you. Give me your babies!
The best way is to grab an ATX mobo tray and mod it in, but you can do it without. The other easiest way is to do an exact sketch of where everything is (I/O Panel, PCI Slot panel, mobo standoffs) are, and cut it extremely carefully.
Skylined did a project on AT-> ATX here he might be the guy to talk to on the subject Also should this not be in modding?
