I'm doing a project where we'll be using clusters of leds, one red, one blue, and one green, to light a basement, and the color of the lighting will be variable. My question is what brightness should i use / how many clusters in a room thats 12x18 with a 7ft ceiling?

Also, how to diffuse the light so it isnt a direct circle on the floor. I was thinking sand the led?

you need to input less than 10Ma to an LED to reduce its brightness significantly. use some light sandpaper to diffuse LED's be sure to do it evenly all over.
