Anyone seen The Fast & Furious??

You know that monitor that pops out from the dashboard in Paul Walkers car in the first race, is that possible to do (including cool sliding action) with the system info on it instead of engine stuff?????

Would be a cool addition to any system. Mount it into the bottom 5.25 bay, and have so it pops down. Or the Top 5.25 bay and slides up (So it doesnt cover the other bays)

    Yup - it's very possible.
There is some other threads covering connecting a car radio to a PC. I have a radio like the one in F&F and it's got RCA type connections for connecting any type of video you like (I've used it with a playstation).
    So to summarize:
    1) Find out how to connect it properly to your PC for power (12v and ignition)
    2) Connect it to a s-video output graphics card (you would likely have to convert s-vid to RCA)
    3) Use Coolmon to display system info (from MBM) onto your second "display"

Any idea if they come prebuilt or am I going to have to chop and slice into a 5.25 bay??

Also do they include rails for sliding or is that another slice job??

Any names and makes would be much appriecated.

    Cheers

Aww, come on Keltic...not EVERYTHING is done for ya! :)

At least the sliding will require some hack jobs, but there are threads detailing a bit of how to do this.

Comon, this is after all a modding fourm so some modding should take place. I hate rich kids who buy premod and think its so cool and that they are modders when in reality it sucks. [/RANT] Im not talking about u KelticFox. But back on topic, as the others said it is 100% possible, just a little expensive.

    You have 2 options:
    1) Buy lcd display and build your own rails for it to slide on. Cheap but much labour
    2) Buy Car stereo with slide out display. Expensive but the screen would slide already - all you need to do is mount it and hook it up

Was just wondering because if its been done already then why give myself a hard job :worried: lol

If I have to do it though, I'll have to do it.
