I lost a bunch of machines that I was using at work. Also the whole power issue has made me question whether I should have all those machines sitting there maxed out and gobbling up juice all the time...

Having said that I've got a dual Xeon system I need to get up and running.

Edit: I've just set my main system running again. :)

Hey guys, I am finally joning in, I had a dual p2 400mhz which gave 32wu to nobody lol, but now its on BT along with a p4 1.8ghz, a 800mhz p3 and eventually a 1.2ghz duron along with a 1800+ Athlon XP, and maybe if I feel like it, a dual p2 Xeon 450 system too. :D

Going to get a couple of new computers in my household, by August I will have:

    2x 1.5Ghz Centrinos (Laptops)
    1x 2.2Ghz Centrino (Laptop)
    1x 2.6Ghz Pentium 4 (Laptop)
    1x 1Ghz Athlon (Server)
1x 2.2GHz Athlon XP (Family Computer)
    1x 2.4GHz Althon 64 (Rig)

Slowing down a bit on the rankings aren't we, but I guess going into the top 200 means we have more competition, so keep up the hard work guys!

So, I dont quite understand what the score is vs the wu, a wu is a work unit right? but what does score have naything to do with it? Is it the ammount of time it takes to process a WU, so the faster you process them the higher the score?

    Thanks in advance.

A more complex wu which will take longer to do will be worth more points than a simple wu. The score reflects how much work your computers have contributed. Hope that helps.

Slapped together a 2.8GHz P4 system that will fold 24/7. Hope to get it folding today.

Btw, I started folding, but had to switch my team #. When will it update this, cause I just started a large WU and don't want it to go to the other team. Thanks.

    -Brad

EDIT: Also got a 3.2E HT to fold 24/6

Depends which stats your looking at, they update at different intervals.

If you changed team in the config after starting your new WU it'll be credited to bit-tech.

Summers rolling around in Tx, it's been 95+ for a week now. Had to back my CPU's to 50% to keep the heat down... Looks like my production will be slipping even further for a couple months, sorry folks.

I'm trying to get my boss to let me move 3 of my boxes to the office, not sure how that will go though.

I might have to do the same,
my processor's nudging 60, daren't think what I'm doing to my (work) laptop (on 24/7).

    ----

Who agrees with me that the current ranking method is stupid?
Surely av points-per-day (ppd) is far more meaningful.
(and not just because it takes me from 23rd to 15th)

true, but that doesn't put the right number by my name.
and there's no way (that I know of) to get the right number for a sig.
just a bit of willy-waving tbh.

Sorry, I'm gonna have to cut down my folding to just 1 computer (1Gig Athlon), my rig keeps reaching 75C and shutting down 5 minutes after startup, due to the heat, room temperature in my room is 29C, so I've undercloked my computer by 40% and temp is 51C without F@H!!!

Should start a thread on "how to make your computer survive the summer heat"...
