hi bi-ttech users some of you might know me from my "project - cool coolermasta" but if not you havn´t missed anything its dead time for a new project now the story to this one: a got myself a shuttle sn45g - very small and great case. but cooling wasnt THAT great (55 degrees) and a little to noisy for my sensitive ears so i decided on watercooling - got the parts i wanted, messed about with them and reallised that i wasnt going to fit everything in it without having to mount the radiator (aqua computer airplex evo 120) outside of the case. well i didnt want that i wanted to have a "smooth look" of the computer without parts "sticking" out. And the second thing was i wanted to achieve the look of an expensive hifi thing so i came across my brothers hifi cd player and saw that THAT is exactly want i wanted it has the CD Drive built in horizontal so you could see the CD in it. thats what im going to do and with that being a "must-be-in-my-case" thing I diced to build my own case. and it only is 3 cm higher than a original shuttle. puuuh - enough bla bla lets get on. (please keep in mind that this is my first REAL project where i build everything by myself ) heres a sketch in 3dsmax the case should be LAN friendly and will have hinges to open the top and sides here is all the material i am using mounted the screws for the mainboard here is the PSU - made a little window and sanded down the grey paint a little wanted to paint it - but deciced to wrap it in "carbon foil" this how all will hopefully fit in there here my first problem the mounting bracket of the cpu cooler was bumping into my NB heatsink so i cut that pit off still needs alot of sanding down though mounted the reservoir with kabel ties FOR NOW here is the back plate with all the holes for the Mainboards IO connections NOTE THAT THIS A TEST PLATE - IF EVERYTHING FITS AND STUFF !!! here the nice cpu cooler ok then bye for now as allways C & C are welcome
I think the idea is great! The work you've done so far however, isn't as great as should be. The only perfect I/O holes you made that really fit, are those for audio. All of the others (serial/usb/firewire/LAN) don't fit perfectly. The holes aren't clean enough.
hmm...not quite - the audio holes arnt as good as I want them to be but as I said (please read Everything till you post something) it is a TEST PLATE for me to TESTFIT things - its not the final work !!!!
All looks great apart from the back. It could look alot nicer if you tidied up the cuts with a few needles files and some emery paper. If not, you could always cut a sqaure hole for an i/o shield
nice work so far, what series Eheim pump is that? it's pretty darn small. what's the flow rate on it?
@ kaotic504 its a eheim compact 300 pump does 300 l/h it can push the water up to 0,5 m and has power of 5 W, 230 V. its a pump for underwater use only but with a small mod-kit you can let the pump work out of water too. it only costs 20 € (that would be nearly 12 pounds i think) www.aqua-computer.de there under --> shop --> pumpen (pumps) and Yes its damn small - ill hope it work alright for me @ topic thanks for the feedback updates soon bye
thank you but - as nearly everything to mod or build differntly in a computer - it was done before me so i just copied it.... anyway updates should be soon building a holding piece for the pump cya
hi guys - heres an update been doing this all day a test fit - yesss thats just what i wanted same for the other side CD-ROM hold plates and one for the pump and the CD-ROM stay tuned emwee
direct-upload has sometimes got some problems - should be ok now I can see them and some of my freinds too stay tuned emwee
Hi ! how are you ? do you remember me ? very nice project !! I have the same shuttle SN45G and MI waterblock is also ideal ! how much did it cost ? you have mounted the screws on the wrong side... but it's fine Good luck ! Avner
sure i remember you im fine thanx - your doing ok to ??? any new projects from your side ??? the M-I cost me 40 € - and it fists great even though i used the screws differently bye emwee
Hello, nice to hear from you let's talk by ICQ... ummm... why haven't you chosen the MII ? too expensive ? though I haven't got the MII, i think the MI is sufficent, and show excellent performances... ! Av
