Most things block microwaves. Leaves, for instance, obscure LoS. Depending on the frequency though, some things block better than others, so do a bit of research to work out what frequencies Sky works on for the optimum material.

You might want to make sure its legal before you do it though ;)

yaeh foil will mess up the signal pretty good, even a wire mesh. i would sew it into something so that it isnt obious. if you run a wire from your metal to a copper pipe in your house, it will work even better.

You'd need a heck of a lot of em. For good signal blockage you'd need gaps about 4mm at widest between wires.

And grounding the whole thing works like a ground plane on a wireless antenna, its supposed to block reflections from the surface under the antenna by absorbing it (and conducting the energy away) instead of reflecting it. It's also the mesh going around the antenna cable (the sheilding, you know the sort thats in RF cables used for TVs and other such devices?), which blocks interferance quite nicley.

If you want your neighbours to move their dish, maybe you should be adult about it and ask them reasonably politely, not resort to passive-aggressive tricks.

This is not a Modding subject. :grr:

If they say no, he could modify their faces using a steel bar... that is a modding subject :D

The flag is a good idea, get 2 cheap crap flags, glue a sheet of foil and a wire between them, hang the whole thing over the dish and ground the wire.

If its in 'your space' im sure they would legally have to move it, but if not whats the problem? It cant be blocking your view too much can it if its on a different building? :p

Is the dish in your yard or theirs? Is there a law or regulation regulating a dish in your area? How big are they (I live in the states)? Technically, at least by US law, it would be illegal to interfere with their signal if they arn't in violation of any laws or regulations.
